Bhutan Weather – Best Time to Visit
Due to varying altitudes, Bhutan weather fluctuates from location to location. Closer to the southern border, the climate is almost tropical, whereas the northern regions, bordering Tibet, are almost always covered with snow. Summer is between June and August and winter lasts from December to February. Summer also brings the monsoons and heavy rains lash the country and low clouds sometimes force flight cancellations. Bhutan weather is at its best during Spring and Autumn – September to November and March to May are the best times to visit. Autumn is especially good for trekking in the country and it also coincides with the festival schedule. These events offer a glimpse of the Bhutanese life and are highly recommended.

Jakar is located in the Bumthang district and the main attractions are the Jakar Dzong and the Choekar Valley , whichis referred to as Little Switzerland. Punakha was the capital of Bhutan till the 1960s and the majestic Punakha Dzong standing on an island is its principal attraction.
