Itchy scalp, a worrisome disease, occurs due to the secretion of excess oil or sebum in the scalp. Excessive sweating and vitamin C deficiency are the major causes of seborrheic dermatitis and the medication for this is almost same as dandruff treatment. Avoiding sunlight is the best way of itchy scalp treatment for sunburn. You can also wear a cap on your head and can use sun protective lotions. Psoriasis, a dangerous state of itchy scalp, can be treated by using drugs such as adalimumab, infliximab, etanercept and alefacept. Head louse is the cause for pediculosis captitis and it can be treated by using louse comb and medicated shampoo. Antifungal drugs such as itraconazole, ketoconazole, gresiofulvin, etc are useful for treating tinea capitis. There are a lot of home remedies available for treating itchy scalp, whatever may be the causes of it. Oils such as German chamomile, Lavender, avocado and eucalyptus has a prominent place in itchy scalp remedies. Take these oils in equal quantity and mix it with some water. Applying this mixture on the affected area is effective for healing the disease. If the disease is caused by dandruff, you can treat it by using tea tree oil, coconut oil, margosa oil, olive oil, etc. Application of lemon juice, warm jajoda oil and aloe vera gel on the scalp are also very effective. You can massage your scalp with a mixture of two drops of peppermint oil and one cup water. The mixture can also be prepared by using water and apple cider vinegar. Baking soda is one of the highly effective itchy scalp remedies. Besides these, your diet should also be a balanced one and it should be rich with Vitamin B, C iron and zinc. You should also include lots of vegetables as well in your diet.
