Children who are affected by this condition will exhibit abdominal pain and vomiting, in addition to the other common symptoms.

Most of these cases are caused due to the action of Coxsackievirus, wherein one will experience severe throat pain along with soreness of the tongue, roof of the mouth, arms and legs. The affected individual will also experience a decreased appetite. Infection in the throat can also accompany many other viral diseases like measles, mononucleosis and common cold. The viral infection is generally transmitted through coughing, sneezing and improper hygiene habits. To get relief from viral throat infection, one can resort to have over the counter painkillers. Also, taking adequate rest, having warm liquids and gargling the throat with luke warm salt water is essential to tackle the infection in an effective manner.
